Las Vegas is the reflection of what the United States of America is. Love it or not, Las Vegas is in your face excess, makes no sense, glitter, show, wealth and poverty and it's a place where people from around the world want to come, even if it's only once.
From the early days when the mob run and built Vegas to the days of the Rat Pack and over the top shows, Vegas has dominated.
Today, Atlantic City is facing hard times with casinos closing, lights going out and competition can be found in any state, province or in countries like Malaysia with Genting Highlands claiming to be a City of Entertainment the world has changed.
Las Vegas soldiers on but must reinvent itself over and over in this competitive world where the one with the most is the winner. The most refers to money.
The biggest challenges to Vegas could come in the next decade with climate change and drought, it will be interesting to see how Vegas conquers the universe.
